Host Australia played New Zealand in the opening fixture of ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. New Zealand Came out on top of the fixture by beating hosts comfortably by 89 runs.
David Conway was declared player of the match for his outstanding unbeaten 92* on just 58 balls including 7 fours and 2 huge sixes and blistering 42 of Finn Allen on just 16 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes helped their side to put a massive total of 200/3 in 20 overs. Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa got 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
Australia had an extremely difficult start to the innings after David Warner got out in the most unlikely way possible. after the wicket of David Warner other batsmen including Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, and Tim David all fell short of the huge total. Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner took 3 wickets each.
